My first impression was the expressions on the faces -- almost as if the lifter is looking for a place to put her down. I like to see dancers perform on "River Dance" and can those are on U-Tube.
This is an excellent black and white photograph. I started out in black and white back in 1953 as color film was not yet out. So we used black and white in 35mm and 120x120 film. A good black and white, or color, for that matter, is as good as the individual snow crystals seen in the foreground. If you can't see the details then the photo could be improved. It looks like you got the details in this photo but I am curious what color the background was?
The dancers look a little 'cautious' - nice shot. Re. your question on street photography in Italy. Not sure if there are any laws. Over here in the UK there is a big debate, and I think the law is that photography in public places is no problem. However, I did have a policeman outside the House of Parliament get a bit upset. He could see that my photos included the police and he said that was a 'security issue'. Sometimes they interpret the law how they want. The only thing I am careful of is children, I understand why people can get a bit upset about strange men taking their photos.
Great shot for the day, Rune, as always! I was intrigued by their facial expressions, too. A little strained, maybe the one was heavier than they thought!! Enjoy your weekend!!
"The Burden" is a great title. So much for "He ain't heavy, he's my brother." The expression on the upright girl's face says it all. "This may be art, but it's damn hard work."
Godt sett, fanget og etterbehandlet. Et godt valg å velge sort/hvitt til dette bildet. Fint lys også, motivet kommer så fint frem med den mørke bakgrunnen. Skulle nesten tro du var i et studio!

Great shot and I love the title.
The expression on the dancers faces made me giggle..Isn't it the guys that usually do the lifting?

Beautiful shot - the lighting is perfect, and the white against the black is so dramatic.
