A Belated Report

As you all know, Norway celebrated its National Day - the 17th of may, last Friday. For various reasons I have not had time to report on it on this blog, so here is a very short and very limited post.

We have in Bergen two parades that more or less walk in parallel, but in different directions. One is mostly for schoolchildren, and the other is mostly for adults (various organizations, teams, students etc etc.) The photos are mainly from the last one.

You can take part in many ways - you can walk by yourself ...

You can find a partner and dance along ...

You can march with a lot of other youths in one of Bergen's unique Buekorps ...

You can enjoy the ride on A Bicycle Built for Two ...

You can try to drive along on your MC on just one wheel ...

If you have a suitable veteran car you can use that ....

And afterwards you are probably thirsty and can quench that thirst in a suitable manner.

The Caveman in Monochrome

I have, like many other hobby photographers lately, been experimenting with Nik Software's products. This is an attempt at using Silver Efex Pro 2. BTW, the title is a take on the sign on the guy's back - "Hulen" means "The cave" and is a student's hang-out in Bergen.

Have a nice Week-end!

Take Five

Music by the sea: Paul Desmond's "Take Five" (my all-time favourite) played on the quay in Arendal, Norway. In-between excerpts from Bach and Beethoven.

I don't know his name, but he and his wife (who played the cello) seemed to play their way through Norway.
