3 - 4 - 5 - THINK!

For those who didn't know: Think was a Norwegian company that produced electric cars from 1991 until 2011 when if filed for bankruptcy. Now it has become something of a collector's item.
In case you wonder were 1 and 2 are: My car is on 1 and I'm on 2 :-), and the whole parking lot is a ferry terminal.

PS Have a nice week-end!

Covered up

The outer part of Strandgaten was the first street in Bergen which was reserved for pedestrians and small shops only (1971). It has had its ups and downs and looks a bit worse for wear here and there. Let's hope that it gets over this downturn too.

Iberian Snail

These Iberian snails are "all over the place" in Norwegian gardens - even climb the walls. However - in monochrome it looks just like an ordinary black snail :-)

Have a nice week-end!

Into the Woods

Woods have a charm of their own. A bit dark and spooky, but it is also a place to sit down and contemplate nature's sights and sounds.

Wooden Boats Festival

Do you care for heights? If not, don't try to do what these young Russians are doing - managing the top sail on the foremast of the Russian frigate Shtandart, a replica of a man-of-war from 1703. If you think this is not so high - look below ...

If you look closely, you will see someone at the top.
BTW, the naval ship moored beside Shtanart is KNM Hitra, a famous (at least in Norway) veteran from WW2. And it was of course made of wood.

And why all this emphasizing on wood? Because each year, a festival for wooden boats only takes place in Risør, a small idyllic town on the southern coast of Norway.

And not only sailing vessels - wooden boats of all sizes and shapes are welcome. And so were we - even without a boat.
