Have a nice summer!

Yesterday was the summer equinox, so the winter is soon upon us ...
No, I'm kidding. As a matter of fact we have had full summer the last few days with lots of sun. Even though we are far from the polar circle the sun sets late - the photo above was shot yesterday at almost exactly 22.00. Let the flower and the sunlight symbolize a golden summer!

The summer always leads to less blogging for me, so also this year. I'll be mostly here, I but may be a little bit there and everywhere too (according to my personal quantum theory ...). So -

Have a nice week-end and a nice summer!

A Bench for Malyss

One of my best blogging friends, Malyss in Nice,France, celebrated her birthday the other day. To my shame I didn't notice. She is very fond of benches - she even has a special blog for them, so I posted this one for her as a belated gift. I found it on Sunday when I was out playing tourist.

Happy, belated Birthday, Malyss!

A Silver Medal

It seems I'm in a run of luck at the moment. Yesterday I received a Silver Medal in the Spring Contest in my Photo Club "Bekkalokket" for this picture called "Power Lines". And Bekkalokket has consistently been one of the two best photo clubs in Norway the last years.

My head is a bit in the clouds at the moment.

An Honourable Mention

A camera dealer , several photo clubs and news media arranged a photo-walk a Saturday some weeks ago in many cities around Norway. In Bergen there were 163 of us crawling around. Yesterday I got to know that the picture above (called "Purple wig") had been awarded 4. place and an Honourable mention in Bergen. I can't complain :-)

PS Have a nice week-end - I have had a good start :-)

For the Tourists

Today we played tourists in our own city. We started at the new Food Centre/Tourist Information building. I was mainly interested in the architecture and the reflections.

Of course, being a tourist involves a bit of walking.

And a bit of pointing, staring and being bewildered.

Since we seemed to be the only locals around, we went home for dinner.

Norsk Selskap for Fotografi - NSFF (The Norwegian Society for Photography) held a small Photomarathon (a photomarathon is a photography competition in which participants must take a series of photographs on predetermined subjects in a set period of time), in connection with their yearly meeting last week. This playful little girl was my submission on the subject "Typical person from Bergen" (I had the parent's permission, of course). I didn't win anything, but it gave me a chance for some post-editing before presenting it here.

Artiste FIAP

I have been a member of a local photo club called Bekkalokket Fotoklubb for three years. The club is again part of Norsk Selskap for Fotografi - NSFF (The Norwegian Society for Photography). The society is a member of Federation International de l'Art Photographique (The International Federation of Photographic Art) - a bit complicated, isn't it?

Yesterday, at the annual meeting of NSFF, I received the distinction Artiste FIAP. The distinction is based on the results obtained in various international contests (called salons). I have never looked upon myself as an artist, but now I can at least call myself one!

C'est magnifique - n'est pas?
