I started this blog in the beginning of 2006 to have a site to place my photos. Much has happened since the first post. 1000 posts is not much compared to many bloggers, but it is a lot more than I had ever anticipated to make. I have learned a lot about photography since then, and the more I get to know the more I find I need to learn. It has been great fun for me, and I hope that I have been able to transmit some of this to my visitors, without whom (and their comments), my world would have been a much duller place.So I decided that a small celebratory post was in order. I found this colourful balloon stuck in a small stream while out walking in the Norwegian "wilderness" last Sunday. I feel it somehow symbolizes the purpose of this Blog.
And will there be 1000 more? Only time will tell ...

Oh, I love this little yellow baloon caught in the conflagration! Surely a sign for a celebration. 1,000 posts? An awesome accomplishment. I think I'm nearing 250 or so. I was thrilled to find your blog when I began mine two or three years ago.

Thanks for your comment on Oliver. Yes, Dickens described very cruel situations. He lived in a romantic age and I think that he made his bad characters extra evil and the good ones super sweet. Fact is that he was one of the first writers to point out all social abuses . The musicals are really great and, as you wrote, not scary.

Congratulations on 1000 posts. Your blog goes back 5 years to March 2004 which is equally impressive. I think I may walk back 1000 posts just to enjoy them all.

Hi Rune! Sorry for the absence, but these last two months have been nasty! My mother (90) was in hospital for more than three weeks and the post-surgery was hard! My father (94) seemed to be an orphan while my mother was out and felt into some kind of depression... The economy is a disaster and the media only bring bad news... The € Euro is rescued every day, only to be known that it needs to be rescued again and again... What else? Well, maybe «Midnight in Paris»... The problem is that the Gil there is a different one... ;)

For photography or poetry or art of any kind, I think a bright balloon stuck in the rapids is a fantastic symbol. Nice thinking, RuneE. And my heartfelt congratulations for 1,000 posts. When there's so much, I'm glad it's a high quality blog like yours and a good human like you who's earned the party.
Every time I visit I always find a magificent photo of a variety of things found at the end of your lens. RuneE, you have a wonderful "eye" that transcends time and space for me. I look forward to another 1,000 photos that stir the mind.
