I haven't posted any benches for a while - indeed, I haven't posted very much lately. Other things have kept me busy and will continue to do so for some time. However, today I have combined my interest in monochrome photography with my interest in benches.
These are located in
Nordnesparken (
The Nordnes Park) in Bergen. There are several groups of these concrete benches, and each one has its own distinct pattern on the seat.

Some say that concrete is a dull material, but as you can see, it doesn't have to be.

In my opinion, the dull one in this trio is the plain and ordinary park bench to the right.

Hah! For noen stilige benches!
God natt! :)
My bench of the week is now posted! :) HER!
Your benches are sturdy works of art.
Interesting benches, but they don't look to comfortable.

Great bench reminds me of slices of melon & well done in b&w.
Very nice contrast in these. The grain in the concrete adds to the look of heaviness.
Although I do like the cement benches, I tend to favour the older bench.
My bench is up.
Rune! Welcome back. I hope the things that you are busy doing are nice things.
Amazing what they can do with concrete.
Oj sann, sjelden onlne mannen for tiden, dvs savnes :-)
Glad to see you back. I missed you, with or without benches!
the dull thing is not the old-fashion bench, it's the assymetrie. Would the classic bench be in the middle of the two others, our eyes would not be shocked.
O, stunning concrete shapes! They stand out so nicely against their backdrop...inviting. Wish I could come over there and sit awhile...spring is to gorgeous in Norway...
The concrete benches are very unusual and artfully made. They look great in black and white.
Like the viewpoint and contrast on the top shot; you would not know it was a bench.
these are pretty interesting looking- definitely wouldn't guess it was a bench in the first shot - nice angle on that one! good ones in b&w!
Flotte, tøffe steinbenker, blir så bra i sort hvitt:)
- takk for kommentarer ;)
Awesome and interesting shapes.
Great mono.
Visst är dom fina, snyggt fotat.
Veldig stilig!!:-)
Ha en flott helg!
Klemmer fra Hege
Unique benches! I love them! I also like the bench to the right. . . and as Malyss said, if that odd bench had been in the middle, one would think it was quite nice.
Those are great benches. Almost look like sculpture of some kind.
Interesting benches - but probably a cold seat in winter! Concrete can take so many different forms.
These are very great benches. They are extraordinarily shaped and beautiful.
I hope you are okay! And that your activities are pleasant. I wish you a great time.
I think you need to sit on one of these benches and catch your breath. Sounds like you are living the American "dream" equating busy with sense of purpose. We all need a slow down day!
In black and white, the cement benches look heavy and powerful, permanent, and rock solid!

Beautiful and different benches you have caught in your photo! :)
Very unusual - I wonder what they are like to sit on? I like the contrast with the other bench.
We have lots of concrete benches in Tucson too. Yours are designed very creatively.
lovely!
Terrific shots. I snap benches now and then, too.
Great piece of B&W art Rune!
Hope you had a great 1st of May :-)
Excellent. Great texture in those benches. They certainly are unusual. No fear of theft I'm sure.
Monochrome works so well in these photos. It really highlights the texture of the material. Great work.
Great captures of benches. Love it...

Very neat and unique benches, Rune. Something the Stone Age people could have done, or did...
Wonderful strong forms! These are great in black and white!
Inspiring in B&W, love the first photo, the top angle shot is just great.
You're right, they're much more interesting. The shapes are so intriguing.
Instämmer tillfullo!
Stiliga bänkar och vackra linjer, Rune.
Ha en fin vecka!
we enjoyed this one, we agree concrete works whenever we work it.
these benches have a "mystical" feel to them.
thanks for sharing
