If it's not frozen then it's not winter. Not long ago I was chatting with a warden from a nearby nature reserve who told me that when you lift ducks and swans out of near-freezing water they feel remarkably warm just beneath their feathers. Have a good weekend.
Love the ripples. the sharp monochrome oh and the ducks! By the way, my Russian grandmother used to say it wasn't winter if the ground wasn't frozen :)

This picture just begs to be done in black and white.
We have had a strange winter as well. It is snowing now, and did yesterday. If it is going to make up for lack of snow earlier, it will be a cold wet February.
What a good decision to go for black and white. I suppose joining any kind of themed group is going to cause some surprising results--in your case, always a fine result as well.
Before the bottom third of the photo filled in on my screen, I thought for a nanosecond you'd caught two planes in the night sky and somehow abstracted them. That would've been amazing, but I like ducks better than planes.

Love the trails behind the ducks and how they fan out.
