The first ones.

interesting - I don't think there are any new cemeteries in the UK and many old ones are full - although most graves can be used for up to four people (of the same family). Most people get cremated these days.

I feel as Gerald does, cremation seems to be the norm now but I guess graveyards will always exist.

It's not always best being the first :-0

I have never been privy to viewing a new cemetery. It sure tells a story -- death is inevitable for us all so partake of life while you may. Black and white photo reinforces how I look at the cemetery.

Livets gang...
God helg :)

Bless them, they are pioneers, ground-breakers.
I wonder how long it will be before your nice new cemetery is full.

(Just today I went to a lecture and guided tour of Bedouin cemetery in the desert.)

It's eerie even though it is new and your shot conveys this. I prefer old spooky character filled graveyards..

I believe this is a first for me...
I've never seen and "new" graveyard.
As a matter of fact, I've never even thought of it.
I love the fact that this photo is a b/w one. Perfect.

Who'll be the first one in?

Seems appropriate to me to be a B&W photo.

Never seen a "new" cemetery. Here , they're all very old . Strangely, this new one seems much sadder that the old places .Maybe because there's only a grave.

Add me to the list of those who've never seen a new cemetery. Eerie, especially in black and white. Maybe now I'll visit long-established cemeteries and wonder who was the first inhabitant.

This is very eerie and the B@W makes it.

It's almost an absurd picture. It takes a little bit of time to understand the meaning of. Quite eerie. I guess someone has to be the first. The picture brings out various reactions, which I think is great. It tells a strong emotional story.
