Staircase to Nowhere

I wonder about (at least) two things regarding this subject:

1. How do you get to that staircase at the top of a waterfall?
2. Where does that staircase lead?
One for the birds ...

PS Found at Næs Iron Works Museum outside the town of Tvedestrand in Southern Norway.

all good questions. I wish I had answers, but I'm afraid I do not.

Good eye, I love photos like this.

There are many stories to be imagined there!
Airport for angels?... :o)

marvellous colours - I suppose the staircase might be used if the waters were drained or diverted for maintainence or maybe they are just a remant of the construction.

Great summer pix of your travels, Rune. Always a pleasure to visit, Visual Norway

Nice shot, Rune! Waterfalls always risk postcard cliches, but you've got some nice patterns going on here, especially with the circling water top right and the modestly green surrounding the browns and russets. I also like the perspective or angle, so that we get only the top of the falls--all that potential.

Stairway to heaven?

Or maybe an entrance for humans to Neptune's castle!

Lovely colours and texture - the photo has a compelling abstract quality too.

I think you answered your own question -- probably its for the birds. Looks like there is one small bird enjoying it in your photo. Such a great photo of the rippling water -- like pure clean fresh water. -- barbara

It's a piece of art creating people thinking and talking about it. The artist has a great sense of humour.

A stroll across the water and then three short steps into the light...what a lovely poem of a picture you have captured.
