Framed - updated

The old drawer has probably been used as a bench by someone hoping to catch some fish from this quay. It made a nice frame for boat and bridge.

BTW We don't always have snow and wind - the photo shows the same bridge and was shot from the same quay as the one below, but Tuesday this week.

PS Have nice week-end!

UPDATED!

It sometimes pays to look at things twice. I was not quite satisfied with way I had cropped this photo, so I did another version. Personally I prefer the last one. I hope the visitors agree.

Word verification from hell

Have you seen one of these? They are known as Word Verification or CAPTCHAs - you are to enter them when you comment on blogs in an attempt to prevent spam etc. This is Bloggers latest version. You have to try x number of times before you get one right. Who wants to make comments at such a blog? So what is the alternative?

  • Remove the word verification on your blog completely (leads to more spam, but might be manageable)
  • Have a totally moderated blog (not my style, at least - people want to see their comments at once)
  • Stop blogging.
I'll try the first alternative now ...

PS for discussion, see e.g here (there are many others):

Twelve Windows

There is something about windows and reflections that really fascinate. However, sometimes the windows that don't reflect become even more fascinating.

PS Have a nice week-end!

Backup

We have all heard about the importance of keeping backups. Just make sure that you
do it in a big way.

PS Have a nice week-end!

Alessandro Pavone in Monochrome

The Italian Sculptor Alessandro Pavone visited Bergen last autumn where he both made and exhibited several works. Here he is making a small wooden statue of St. Sunniva, the patron saint of Bergen. It was a pleasure to see such a fine artist at work and I shot several photos of him - with his permission, of course. Here is one of them.

PS Have a nice weekend everyone!
