An Italian Greeting

No, I have not been to Italy for this photo, but when you are a member of a photo club, you are encouraged to take part in photo contests. Some weeks ago I entered the 15° Gran tour delle Colline in Italy. A few days ago I saw on their website that the photo above, called "Winter Sunrise", had been accepted. As you may have guessed, the subject is Norwegian - from a municipality called "Samnanger", east of Bergen.

Ooh, it looks so primeval, like the mountain is being born out of the earth in the earliest days.
Right they were to accept this photo of yours.

Tommelen opp for deg Rune. Veldig hyggelig at du fekk bilde akseptert. Kanskje litt eksotisk for italienerne dette, snø og greier. Må være enig i at det er velig fint når solen skinner og frostrøyken ligger der. Gratulerer!

As I'm half-italian, I understand why they kept this wonderful picture: it sounds like a dream for a southern one..
PS: THANK YOU for your so nice comment today! coming from you, it's a REAL compliment, that makes me proud!

Congratulations Rune! The photo deserves to be chosen . I am not as poetical as Dina, but she is absolutely right that the mountain is born out of the earth like in the dawn of times. Thanks for your visit. Gouda is an old town and even I dislike living in towns, I think I would not mind to live there, if I were younger.

Gratulerer Rune.

Congratulations! And what a stunning photo - I love the atmosphere, so mysterious in this valley below the sun.

Gratulerer så mye Rune! Og det var jo et framifrå bildet da - som viser hvor vakker Norge kan være. Selv om vinteren som vi alle klager så fælt på! Vinter er vakkert - og bildet er flott! Lykke til!

What a GREAT photo, Rune! I really like the shade in the foreground and the sun on the mountain. Also the contrast of the pure blue sky with the white snow and the brownish foliage!

Beautiful! Your mountains can compete with the Alps anytime!

Interesting comment on the name of the auction company. The Billig web site indicates the price was $153,000 for the 3 parcels of land (one with an old building). I don't know if that is cheap or not. This area was flooded in the 1970's and I think those buildings have not been used since. I posted a shot from the rear for my Odd Shots.
