The Star of the Show

In case you wonder, you are now staring a starfish right in the mouth. No, I have not started deep sea diving with a starfish clutching my camera's lens as a result. I found it "climbing" this not-so-clean plexiglass wall inside The Bergen Aquarium, which I visited the other day.

For the technically interested, the photo was shot handheld with a Canon EOS 7D fitted with a Sigma 70mm macro lens with ISO 3200, F. 3.2, and speed 1/100sec. Ambient light (halogen spots). Estimated distance 30 cm.

Kjempekul type!

I like how the feet are all in random directions.

How do you like the 7D? I'm seriously thinking about buying one and seeing this at ISO 3200 is really selling me on this idea.

I like your macro shot very much. I think macro shots opens the world to things none of us get to see unless we have a camera with a good macro lens on it. I know last summer, it was easier for me to get my breath but I was no longer able to lay on the ground to photograph some things I wanted to photograph. I don't know how it will be this year but I am anxious to see and hope it warms up.

Spennende bilde!

:) Bare uker igjen.. :))

Rune! The diversity of life on earth in terms of form is startling. You seem to have found a denizen of the sea that proves my point.

Ouch that would be scary, but lucky you to get the clean glass. Cool photo. Keep up the good work. Anna :)

Hmmm, I usually see starfish from the other side. Interesting view, but kind of creepy too.
