Glimpses from a White Christmas

We have had an exceptionally White Christmas in Norway this year. We have been lucky in these parts with only about 25 cm of snow and 8 - 10 degrees C below zero. However, combined with the low sun and clear sky one has at least the opportunity to try and get some nice shots. So here is a sampling of today's catch.

The photo above is shot about one meter from my front door, catching the first rays from the rising sun reaching my snow-covered firs.

A roof may well be a roof, but sometimes things like this catches my attention.

A frosty lamp gets some lighting from the sun.

The frost shows itself as haze in the distance.

Snow and youth ...

Nydelige bilder, Rune.

I love the sparkles on the roofs and the long shadows of the kids.
You have the real magical light and snow.

Flott bildeserie! Hmmm, - Ikke nissespor på det taket, nei!
Joda, husker godt Nero Wolfe i detektimen på fredager....og hans fasinasjon for orkiéer.
Ha ei fotogal romjul!!

Beautiful snow. In the 4th photo down I had to look carefully to discern the roof tops from the hills. Thank you for so many wonderful pictures this year. I wish you a happy 2011.

The light on the firs is magical Rune. I only hope that the sun will shine here again soon to hopefully make all the snow we are getting look a little better.

Looks like a grand time! Christmas itself was not white in my neck of the woods, but we're in the midst of getting a few inches overnight.

Herlig billedserie.

Her sola borte nå, i dobbel forstand.

O, nice snow shots! Love the early morning light on the snow clumps...we have similar light here in Florida on palm leaves :) same sun, same light--wonderful when you get up early enough to catch it.

They're all beautyful, but the landscape in the 4th is ...pfuii!:)can't find the words!
This dream is so beautyful that is hard to go back to my reality!

Ah, snow in winter. There's not much here in Toronto. Winter isn't quite right without heaps and drifts of snow, though I can do without wind.

Lovely photos, RuneE, and a belated Merry Christmas.

What a fine series of nice photos of your white christmas, there is an amazing light in these shots. We had a "Norwegian" white Christmas in Denmark again this Christmas.
