O is for October in Norway

O is an easy one - October. We all know that it is the tenth month of the year, and if you need any more background, you can read about it in Wikipedia. In Norway one can look upon October as a kind of inverse April - anything can happen. And it does.

One can have summer-like evenings where only the changing colours of the foliage tells one that it is autumn.

If you have access to a still lake or fjord you can see a tremendous expression of colour - twice.

But of course, it gets colder. The cars get dew on the windows.

You may drive into large banks of mist.

You may even experience full winter.

One poor leaf got caught by the snow with a little bit of green left.

And of course there is rain. But a rose is still a rose even when it rains.

Lekre flotte bilder igjen!! :)

What a beautiful post! All those colours in an autumn month are fabulous! Even snow! The rose is really stunning.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks also for your comment. I don't know if "Ot en Sien"was translated into Norwegian, but I am sure you had the same teaching methods we had. I used to buy children books in Norwegian when I was in Norway, but they were different and more modern, though very beautiful.

the reflection is leaving me breathless!!!!
but the little red house in the snow is touching my heart..
All photos are so beautyful! sometimes, like today, after seeing your pictures, I think I'd better leave my camera in a box and do something else..

Well, I hope the snow will hold off for another month at least, but the rain, the fog, and even groundfrost: yes, we've had it!!

Nice and inspiring shots, RuneE. October has many faces in Norway, the leaf lying on the snow describes it perfectly.

Beautiful examples of October in Norway! I always wanted to visit Norway as a child, but now? Now I think it looks too darned cold!!

It is gorgeous though. Maybe I'll buy some warm clothes and pop over, one day.

On behalf of the team, thanks for taking part in ABC Wednesday this week! :)

October--what a perfect month to post this in! :0)

What beauty your October brings and you captured all of it! Our April and October are usually the mildest months, but we are getting the southern edge of a Canadian storm that will probably remove many of the colorful leaves. Your shot of the little red building and snow makes me look forward to our winter!

Ann said...

Are you getting lots of snow? Your photo is very beautiful. Meanwhile, today, we feel really warm.

Vilka fantastiska bilder!

What a splendid look at Norway in October...what a splendid place to be...wish I were there for a little of your October.

At the moment in Florida, we're having a hot, muggy spell before the next "cold front" comes rolling in. Still, it's lots cooler than the summer...perfect for sleeping with windows open.

Oh, my! What a stunning collection of October images. I think October is the very best month of the year. It is beautiful no matter what part of the work one lives in.
Top notch job on the photos! Bravo!

Well done, as always. The reflection at the lake makes you want to step into the frame.

Brilliant photos, Rune! The leave on the snow looks almost like a little magic carpet floating above clouds instead of sitting on snow. The second photo with the autumn leaves reflected in the water is stunning.

Petunia said...

Irene said...
