What do you see?

I found this when I was out strolling the other day. What do you make of it?

This Monochrome concept came from Aileni at Monochrome Weekend.

What fun! It certainly looks like a pipe - or a reversed musical note.

Excellent detail, I can almost count the grains.

The jot in "jot and tittle"?

A diffused note whistling to you?

Rune, have you been asking for signs and wonders lately . . . ?

First impression--a musical note. OK, I know that's not what it is but that's my view of it :)

Hmmm, I think maybe a sideways musical note or if not that an old codger's pipe.

Jeg ser også ei pipe. Hva er det?

A punctuation! (Probably from an alien language!)

I hope it is a 'Peace Pipe' my friend... or the salt of the earth making sweet music..
Happy Easter to you and yours

My first thought was that it was hailstones but they'd probably not fall in such a pattern.

Thank you everyone for the comments! I have received many suggestion, ranging from cobra to punctuation. However, most have suggested notes and/or pipes - which were my own suggestions when i saw this.

PS It is REALLY fertilizer that has leaked from a sack outside our local market garden.

LOL for L day. I think the one thing the statue can't do is play the piano. That is a picture from the home of a patron of the arts in Tel Aviv. She is an ex-relative.

It makes me think immediately of Sherlock Holmes, who, of course, would quickly get to the bottom of it.

When I first saw it I thought music note flipped in reverse and done with salt. Then, I saw your answer. Nice mystery shot - got the brain working.
