In french, such paintings or pictures, composed ,in a not natural way, with fruits and things, are called "dead natures" (natures mortes). This one , with the knife in action, would perfectly illustrate the meaning of this way to speak!!

I agree with Malyss. :) I also like the way the orange really stands out against the black background.

The contrast between orange and black is nice.
I want that orange...

Nice lighting and I like your copyright on the knife handle - going into a new business making knives?

An excellent photo and I like the contrast of the orange against the black background. An orange is much nicer than a kumquat! Thanks for your visit! I always loved your national costumes, especially the weddingdresses. The jewelry is so beautiful! My husband bought me a necklace of silver in Norway.

I like it, the orange jumps almost out of my computer screen.

Snakke du om påskekrim :-)

Great shot. Kute Kumquat Komposition. (Sorry, that was horrendously corny ...or even Korny. ...I need to stop now, don't I?). ;)

I can say that I like extraordinaril~y the orange colour, so bright and clean, and the knife gives it a creepy tone. Dramatic and strong. Please, please, don't kill the oranges... Just joking!

RuneE, love your banner photo! Excellent and perfect for spring!

Love your K photo too. Love the way you put your copyright on the handle of the knife as if it was engraved there. :) Wonderful work as always!

Kute, and the photo is striking, cutting-edge. :)
But the lambs are precious. Triplets?!

I would not like to end my life as an orange during easter.

Prøver du her å samle den norske påsken i et enkelt stilleben? Krim, sol og appelsiner?

I thing it is a great picture. I like how you sing it in the knife. is looks like a knife with "RuneE" trade mark:)

I love your new header:)

Now that's a neat arrangement. I like it! Using simple items from around the house.

I have been deed into reading mysteries these last few weeks so the thought of a knife can be rather chilling. Your photo with the orange, however, softens the thought!

klever kollaboration of knife and orange, into which you had to kut kautiously. but I don't think it's kitsch at all.

The knife looks like it missed the dishwasher.

Hi Rune! I was waiting to read your Magritte subtitle: «This is not a knife... » Neither an orange... ;))

The Mayan ruins of Tulum are at Blogtrotter 2 for you to enjoy. Have a great week!!

Still life photography was once the rage. You have an excellent example here! And you are getting a lot of use out of your orange (or eating a lot of oranges). On another subject, I saw an article in a Mazda ad magazine about driving an hydrogen fueled Mazda from Oslo to Bergen (last leg was by ferry). Again some beautiful country along the route!

Ann said...

your RuneE, did you just photoshop it there, or your knife is engraved?

It looks a very lethal one, a student in Singapore is allegedly to have killled his professor with a fruit knife.

Nydia said...

This is ready to be framed and hanging on your kitchen's wall!
And it really look like an engraving, you know?

Awesome photo.

Kisses from Nydia.

I though about "knife" but decided against it. Could have been too melodramatic. But as it turned out, my post has a drop of blood!
Best wishes (Glad Påsk!)
