D is for Destruction

Wikipedia Declares that:

Destruction is the act of damaging something beyond use or repair.
This Demi-Demolished and Drab building is the Destroyed Derelicts of what was once the Departments of Pre-Clinical Sciences at the University of Bergen. I Dedicated eight years of my working life here. Now the Departmental Dons and the Dedicated students have been Dispatched elsewhere and the Demolition site is Destined for a new Dental Hospital and Department.

It must be a little sad for you , if the eight years were good ones..

There are a lot of D's! It must have been a place of great importance, and served as a great building for science. No doubt a new building will be built instead of this one or may be it has been built already.
Thanks for your visit to the Story Wall at the other end of the world.
Thanks for your kind comment.

Life moves on, but it is always sad to see part of one's life gone forever.

I guess nothing is saved and it all goes to a landfill. Seems like poorer kids could be given a job of taking off mortar on old bricks.

It makes an interesting shot.

It makes for quite an amazing and interesting photo. I hope you have some nice memories and photos of it in it's prime too.

Someone has done a good job of knocking a lot down while leaving those corner pillars in place. Nice shot.

I once watched as the apartment I had lived in for many years was demolished, so that a school could be built in it's place. Hard to watch, but an interesting DDDD photo you have captured.

Nice work Rune, there's good can come from an Old building, if you catch it before its gone.

Dangerous too. Don't get too close.
It's a darn good picture.

So you taught there? :)

Wow! it's looks like after earthquick! Is dramatic and stunning!

Herlighet!

Its kind of sad we destroy a history. Your image is excellent, I like the white background, which brings the clear definition of the destroyed building. Thanks for sharing. Anna :)

It is sad to see something that had so much meaning to you destroyed. We do indeed destroy a great deal of history, much of it without thinking. Your picture says it all! Great post, Rune, as always!

Her er det lite å gjøre ja!

Men det ble et veldig bra bilde av elendigheten!

It's disillusioning when a place that was so valuable in the past is destroyed for future development, especially when you had such a history with the place! Fantastic photo, though, as usual!

Down-right delightful D post Rune'. That's a lot of D words and quite devestating. At least it will be developed into a Dental building.

How sad. At least there is a future for the space. Thanks for the D post.

I find it very sad that we abandon buildings just for the sake of constructing something else - it speaks to the modern throw-away culture though. (spoken like a child of the Great Depression)

Lew said...

You got the "D" well covered! There is a lot of destruction here in order to build something dazzling.

Ikke mye å gjøre her ser det ut for,men litt trist å se!

It must feel strange to watch a building you've worked in being demolished! I hope the replacement will be a big improvement.

Kjempestilig bilde Rune!!! likte det voldsomt :-) Bergen sentrum??

There is both sadness and beauty in such destruction!

Gerald (Ackworth born) said...

It looks Depressing but we must move on and hopefully the new building will be worth it.
