P is for Paraglider

A Wikipedia definition:

A paraglider is a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing, whose shape is formed by its suspension lines and the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing.
I prefer to stay on the ground with a camera. The picture was shot during "Ekstremsportveko" 2008, at Voss, Norway.

Today's post is an entry in the FIFTH round of ABC Wednesday, the meme initiated by Denise Nesbitt.

Amazing, how blue without any clouds the sky can be! Paraglider is an excellent word. Isn't it wonderful to read so many P words? But I am not looking forward to doing the X and Y words!!
Thanks for your visit and comment! Have a beautiful Wednesday tomorrow, Rune!

Those lines look like a thin spider web. It's a dramatic and beautiful picture. But I'm with you--I'll stay on the terra firma.

Amazing that paragliders fly. I know people always think they can jump out of a building and stick their arms out and fly but I have always been too chicken to give it a try.

I've always thought this would be a neat thing to do, you can go in 'tandem' with an instructor, which would make a great introduction, especially if you had a small camera with you. Nice shot

Fantastic shot, Rune! We have many of those flying around Puget Sound which is only a few blocks from our house and I always enjoy watching them. I've been up in an air balloon and loved it, but don't think that at my age now, I'm ready for paragliding!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Kult bilde.

i like the illustration of "bleu-blanc-rouge" you made, they are the colors of my national flag and I love the way they are shining on your picture!

The paragliders do make a pretty sight agains the blue sky.
We saw one this morning flying over our fields. It was propelled by a 2 cycle engine, though. Very noise. That seems a bit like cheating, doesn't it?

Perfect p! I also prefer to stay on the ground and take photographs.
Yours are always inspiring!
