A bench while you wait

Some bench-owners are afraid that their benches may get stolen and chain them to the ground. In this case I doubt that it will be necessary. I would be a job for Obelix to lift it.

I think it is a much better idea just to sit down and enjoy the view. The bench is situated outside a small gallery - with it own fish.

However - even thought it is not provided by the local authorities for those waiting for the bus, it is a welcome place to sit down. And you can feel a bit "arty" at the same time.

My own interest in benches originated by reading the site published by PERBS and Kerri, and the site published by Malyss. Also, others showed an interest in the subject, so I started to take photos of benches I "stumbled" across and posted them on Fridays. It was never meant to be a "proper" meme, but others joined me in publishing benches on (mostly) Fridays . I therefore never made a blog roll, but visits to my former posts (see archives in the sidebar), to the previous mentioned sites and to Gerald's site Ackworth Born, Gone West (he keeps a small list of benches he finds on his way) might be profitable.

It may not always be possible for me to find an appropriate bench for a Friday, or I may not even have time to post it. But It isn't my last bench-post.

Wow, That's really cool. I be it took some work to create that one, and put it in place.

I've never seen one like that.

What an interesting urban bench. Seems more deep woods to me. I like the angle of the top shot a lot.

I certainly wouldn't try to move that bench, ;-)

That's one bench that will not be walking away from outside the store any time soon. That much is certain. I wonder if more people use this bench or the one under the roof when waiting for the bus.

That is a solid bench. No need to worry about maintenance, I would think!

That is a hefty heavy bench.

The bench seems to be made of one single piece! there must be a modern Obelix somewhere in Norway..Ü

The coloring and strata in this rock are wonderful.
If I believed in such things, I would say this bench might have special energy in it. Well, unless it was torn from its natural place in the earth.

Anyway, I have one more bench among the basalt of Tiberias.

Super cool bench. I think it would be fun to have in a big backyard at a home. Nice shots!

En "skulptur" i bybildet.
Veldig flott!

Den fargerike fisken er også et blikkfang. Morsom.

Looks like a cold seat! but so unique. It looks a bit like petrified wood. Cold and hard, yet inviting, compared to some modern plastic junk! Good find!

That's a unique bench and may be a bit cold in winter, but it would also be warm in summer.

My bench is up a bit late today as I had pressing matters to attend to.
