Bench along the trail

When you walk along a trail you are usually glad to see a place where you can sit down, relax and enjoy whatever sight there might be to see. In this case I was walking along a trail in The Forest of Canada.

No, I have not moved away from Norway. However, in Bergen there is a forested recreational area called The Forest of Canada (Kandaskogen in Norwegian). One might imagine it looks a bit like it too - judging from the pictures I have seen, for instance on Barbara Martin's blog.

The name stems from a group of boy-scouts who in 1918 went hiking in "Canada".

I only hope the authorities in Canada take better care of their benches than we do.

Oh goodness - it is Friday already!!

This bench is in an idyllic spot! What lovely clear colours and atmosphere.

Nice place for benches and a picnic table. . . I bet it gets lots of rain there so it is only natural that it gets worn out.

My bench is up early as it is another 6 hours before Friday arrives here. Drop by and see it.

It's alot like one I saw in Alaska, in a spot rather close to to Canada.

My bench is a little on the worn side, also. Yours is in a much nicer location!

The landscape is very much like that of Canada in the forested areas. Benches that have witnessed the elements throughout the seasons may look like this one presented. I cannot speak for the government authority in the National Parks, except that what benches are available are often quite nice.

Thanks for the link, RuneE. My bench is up, but not with a lovely tree view.

I think this location could pass for Canada. I've seen a few benches like this too. ;-)

A bit of disrepair, but it's still a good bench!

That second shot is a spectacular reason to sit down on that rather worn bench and enjoy the view.

I've been seeing Kerri's benches linking back here and last week I came across a bench I thought I'd share with you.

When you're tired, even old benches are a welcome sight. Looks like nice weather that day.

A very careworn bench but it still looks servicable

Hahaha, Rune...

Hi Rune...
I've not join in this week... but do have pictures ready.. busy busy with a few things here at the mo... ;o)

Love the views in these pictures, as for the bench a lot of our benches end up like this.... it's all this damp wet weather we get..

Shalom Rune, glad to see you again!
I just posted some picnic tables too, from Tiberias.
Your benches here are getting rough; one could sit and get a splinter in the tuchas. :)

When we were in Norway we were always looking for a bench and table like that. All of them were, however in much better condition than the one on the photo. Nevertheless I would love to sit there and listen to the sounds of the wood.
My bench is a French one this time.
Have a great weekend, Rune!

That bench looks something like the sea on mine. But the others were all made a long time ago with then new treated wood and they just don't age at all. It has been over 20 years ago. I will have to show you one of them.

I don't think I ever mentioned that I spent some time in the Army in Japan and while there began my picture taking career. I have been working on putting some of them on the following blog. If you are interested you are welcome to take a look.

God helg!
