Closed down

This was once a shop. Toftøy in Øygarden, outside Bergen.

This Monochrome concept came from Aileni at The Monochrome Weekly

PS For various reasons I will reduce my blogging activity for a little while, but not my photography...

Strange to think it now finds fame as a mono subject. Melancholy.

Shalom until next time, then.
Until you re-open the blog shop.
Be well.

Världen förändras i snabb takt. Nostalgi och saknad :)

It's not closed down, just waiting for someone to re-open it! It looks like a nice building to work in.

Hm - melancholy indeed. I hope people nearby have somewhere else to go.

Liking the weathered look of the building with this B&W color... nice.

Abandoned, closed and derelict make excellent images.

The only thing missing is a homeless cat peaking through the window :) Lovely capture!

There is something so appealing to me about old abandoned buildings. They have a charm all their own when photographed so well like you've done. Although I hope the owners left by choice. That part makes me sad if people didn't want to leave their business.

Good shot; old wood and derelict always does it. Does the bottom of the sign say smoking forbidden?

Monochrome suits this picture very well. Nicely done.

Perfect monochrome subject ... wonder what's inside?

Perfect for monochrome. I feel a bit sadness in your shot :-)

Time runs quickly when it comes to make a ruin from an abandoned place...
take a good care of you during your blogless vacancy Ü

A good subject for monochrome.

Sorthvitt er perfekt til slike bilder. Som minner oss om dengang da! Fine sorthvitt-toner i bildet!

It is very sad, after a while they become very derelict looking and are lost...:-/

@John, The sign says:

SMOKING
and all use of fire forbidden.

Nice shot. The doorway looks very old and tired.

Hi Rune, I hope your health is well and that you're just spending time enjoying other things in life while taking a vacation from blogging. Glad to know you'll still be photographing.

You should see the number of stores and office buildings that are closed down here in So. Cal. I don't think we've hit bottom yet. There was just too much building going on.

An all too familiar sight in today's modern world. The old community spirit is being served a severe blow.

Nice to hear about your daughter.

I enjoy scrolling through your Norsk blog. Great animal pictures.

Underbar bild. :)

Looks to be in good repair, I wonder is it a seasonal business or are they closed for good

Rune, this is wonderful. Old time structure and old time look.

Nice shot of the weathered look. Perhaps some paint and a cleaning inside might be just the thing to get it re-opened and in use again.

I wonder how long this place has been out of service. Nice photo to pick as a b&w. Hope to see you back soon.

that is a great B&W image :)

Eit flott s/k bilde.

I'm getting around to your B&W late this week, I'm afraid, I have a passion for old buildings and think they look great in monochrome. Nice find.

Great shot my friend, thought for a moment you was saying your blog closed, so pleased to know its not.

Come take a trip with me on the London Eye.
