Bench of the week (22)

This week's bench is of the very simple kind. It is as simple as they come - and this one came from IKEA at least twenty years ago. But it is sturdy and I have enlivened it with a branch of yellow broom for the occasion.

And why did I do that? Because it is ours. It is the one we have at our summer cottage. It is where we can sit and contemplate Life, The Universe and Everything. And forget the weed.

I'm into a period of reduced blogging, but if you have a comment, or another bench to show me, please leave a greeting below and I'll come by sooner (or later).

Just goes to show how something with very plain, clean lines can be spruced up so easily with a little dabble of colors from the flowers and looks really snazzy!

A lovely restful photo, RuneE. A perfect location for a bench in a sunny spot on a bit of hill or incline.

I have a bench post today, but rather a tiny one in the landscape.

This does have a holiday feel to it - there is a glowingness to the colours and a kind of energetic restfulness!

Hi Rune
Ireally admire your skill here...that first shot was excellent with the Yellow of the Broom... and the second shot found me wanting to be in that spot right now... it really looks a peaceful place to sit and relax... I love the landscape behind the bench and I just know I would be so at home in that area... you said this was a 'simple bench' and it might well be, but I found both shot had my mind racing.. A truely beautiful posting.... made my day it as.

Truly a peaceful place to sit and let all your worries drain away. After 20 years, the bench almost looks new.

SÅ heldige dere er som har en så flott benk ved hytta.

(Og ad. bloggintensitet så regner jeg med det er jobbstart etter ferien i flere bloggheimer enn min...)

Hi Rune,
I'm glad you didn't give up on blogging completely. I like your bench, its setting, and the flowers.
I have a bench posted, too.
Thanks for inspiring me to look!

So you have been holding out on me all these months!!!!!!!! It is a lovely bench in a beautiful spot and you didn't need the flowers to make it so to me. I have never heard of that type of flower before -- very pretty. I did not know that IKEA has been around that long. Kinda recent here. . . to me anyway.

Come and see my personal bench this week. I finally posted photos of the one I bought this summer. In a way, we posted along the same lines -- personal benches. I use mine indoors tho because I don't have a lovely yard to place it in sicne I live in an apartment building.

My opinion is that ,most of the time, the most simple things are also the most beautyful ones..Your pictures give me confirmation;
The place is sunny and quiet, surrounded with flowers, protected by the rocks, and with a beautyful view; And the bench is smart, simple and with a sweet color; You're a happy man!

PS:After visiting you and Perbs, I followed the game of personnal bench today.

I'm surprised a bench from IKEA has lasted so long! You've cared for it well.

I really love what you show and write here, Rune! It gives such happiness.
So glad you have a place like that. It is so necessary.

I have a rare picture of policemen on a bench. Taken with stealth. :)

But no hurry. Take your time. Enjoy your time.

Nydelige omgivelser benken står i! Godt med en slik plass og en slik benk til å nyte dagene, fundere over ting og bare sitte og slappe av. Ha en riktig så fin helg Rune!

Happy 'reduced bloging'--hope you're enjoying your time.
I did post another bench I found on my Skywatch post. Your bench looks nicely functional in such a lovely setting.

Hi Rune! Lovely spot!

It seems everybody is gone on vacation and I'm the only one working at an office... ;)
Blogtrotter is leaving Iceland, but before departing it shows you the incredible Blue Lagoon. Enjoy and have a fabulous weekend!
