"American" Iris in a Norwegian Late-night show

The result of a bulb given to a cousin of mine by his niece in New York State. Species unknown.
(And an attempt to test the limits of my camera - ISO 32oo late in the evening)

Looks like proof that Norway is excellent for growth of all kinds.

Fabulous and stunning flower,Rune! I like that mixture of light blue and purple blue together with the orangelike heart. I am almost getting poetical! That's the effect of beautiful flowers.LOL.

Your camera did very well at the high ISO. I think your flower is Japanese Iris (Iris ensata). New York State is close to my neck of the woods.

I have never tried the cameras at this high setting. I think 1600 was it. I have problems with noise in the dark areas and I see some on the greens in this one but not bad for such a high ISO.

I adore grainy flower shots :)

I do so happen to shoot my photos in RAW, and I'm in the process of getting photoshop. Any tips on noise reduction would be very much appreciated.

This image is fantastic. The colors of the flower are beautiful.

Here's an Iris that I took earlier this year.

And a gorgeous specimen it is! I had not read your words and wondered if you had late blooming Iris also-- like the ones I saw about three weeks ago. You done good with the macro.

I would consider this an expatriate flower. The noise isn't too bad at such an high ISO.

Or, as the saying goes, "Bloom where you are planted."

Hi Rune,
Your photos are allways gorgeus, this specimen too.
