Bench of the week (18) - and a bit more...

This week we are back in Byparken (The City Park) in Bergen and with a type of bench I have shown you before. However, this time there is a difference - in fact several.

You are never alone in this park. You might meet some of the local gulls...

However, they might leave as fast as they come. But they might be supplanted by...

...fellow blogger Imac and wife Julie! They were in town today with some friends, so of course we had to meet for some sightseeing, talk and lunch. It is amazing how one gets to know people through the net. No problem finding topics of common interest - it was like meeting old friends (as they in many ways are).

Thank you Julie and Stewart for a very pleasant meeting and day!

I have not made this "bench-thing" into a meme, but if anyone else would like to join me in publishing benches on Fridays (as many of you have done - just look at the comments section on the former benchpost) , they are of course welcome to do so. Give me a hint and I'll come visiting - summer permitting :-)

I like this bench photo shoot you've done, RuneE, with the last photo being the best. Friends are the best people in the world.

My bench is up.

The bench looks very sturdy with all those bolts on the side. It looks like it's being well used by the seagulls.

A bench is just what I need at the end of the week...
I put one up today.

It was great to scroll down past the gulls and as I did so I remembered that imac was visiting Norway and I scrolled down further not to be disappointed.

What a perfect place for a meeting.

Loving both benches and gulls, your two first pictures made my day!
But discovering your blogfriends was a pleasure, too.
Those new kinds of friendships are both strange and marvelous. we don't see each other, but know a lot about each other, speak together several times a week, appreciate and share same interests..But would never meet without Internet.
The web gave birth to new kinds of relationships, which can be almost as rich as "real" ones. But the real life meetings probably still remain the best part of it.

PS1: There is a possibily of job for MLB members today on my benches blog.(Ü)

PS2: Last but not least:Thank you so much for your so nice comment on my yesterday's post.

Nice to meet Mr and Mrs iMac on the featured bench, no less.

PS: I don't have anything on any of my blogs about Scientology. I don't know what you saw. But there isn't anything about that group on any of my blogs that anybody has seen or mentioned seeing.

What a wonderful blogging plus to meet fellow bloggers, Rune! And to think they were so agreeable to sit on a bench and allow you to take their photo. ;-)

I have a bench up this week too, although not such a fabulous post as yours. It's at http://eastgwillimburywow.blogspot.com/

Every time I see a bench now, I'm thinking of you - I might join you in this meme one day :-)

How great to meet others! Like I always say; Blogging connecting People !

Don't we take strange photos? In NYC my daughter kept saying 'why?'. Telling her it was for the 'empty benches' group in Flickr didn't seem to work for her.
Keep taking them.

And of course, your post is so special with Imac and Julie in it!!
How great to meet up like that.

Wow, lucky you and lucky Imac and wife, meeting in your beautiful place.
That warms the cockles of my heart. :)
I finally decided which bench to post.
Shalom to you and all.

Thanks for the comment, good point about learning from cats.
The friend on the bench is named Mark. Does the picture make him a benchmark? :)

I like this idea of bench of the week - I've just signed up to Skywatch Friday, but something about benches is more appealing to me...

Så da var det bench of the week for meg!

Ps.

Svenn Inge said...

Hello RuneE,
This is my first visit on your blog thanks to your comments on Malyss'ones (Chronicles from the shore).
Well, your photos are really nice (nice colors and plenty of life).
This smily couple is really touching :-).
Norway is our summer holidays'destination this year.
Please have a nice day :-).

Maliss said...

Sorry ... I forgot to say that i have two nicknames, Soie and Maliss. I don't use anymore the second one because it looks too much to Malyss'ones. But my Google account was created with it (I didn't know Malyss at this time...) I'll have to update it one day.

I was just visiting Kerri and wanted to stop by.
These are lovely shots!
It's nice to 'see' Imac and his lovely wife. He was one of the first Sky Watchers I knew so long ago now when we were just a few. :)

Hehe. ;)
Blogging er "brobyggende" på så mange måter.
En fin hobby dette!

Hi Rune!
Sorry for the long absence! But don’t you think it was a great vacation; some very busy weeks and just a few days off... ;)
How I would have liked to have seen Bergen in the sun... ;)

Meanwhile Blogtrotter is still turning around Iceland. Enjoy and have a fabulous weekend!

Nice bench Rune, but my first thought was "It's facing the wrong way!" Such a beautiful view to turn your back on.
