V is for View of Various Vessels from the Veranda

Since we live by a fjord (actually several), we have a View of the Various Vessels that pass beneath our Veranda. It may be large cruise ships like the "Queen Victoria", or...

... it may be small pleasure crafts and fishing boats.

We can see the ketch "Loyal" from the 19th century...

... and the barque "Statsraad Lehmkuhl" from 1914, the pride of the city of Bergen .

Sometimes we get several very worthy ships: Here comes first Hurigrutens (The Coastal Express) "Trollfjord", followed by the immense "Queen Mary 2".

There is never a dull moment when one can watch the sea.

Today's post is an entry in the fourth round of ABC Wednesday, the meme initiated by Denise Nesbitt.

Well this is off the topic but... I miss Alexander Rybak! Are his songs stil on the radio there? He's completely disappeared from the French airwaves! I hope that he's still rocking Norway!

Kjent utsikt det der, snufs. Bodde en periode på kanten borte i Drotningsvik. Savner kl 7-cruisebåtene om morgenen.

You are blessed to live by the water to have such a great view! I almost got that opportunity but the apartments were too tiny or I would be looking at the Columbia Tiver and its action today. . . oh well, I get to see it thru your camra eyes.

Awesome views from your veranda. Its almost like you live on a movie set. I don't think I would get much work done with that vista in front of me.

Det er jo bare å ha kameraet fast utstasjonert på den verandaen :-)

Fantastiskt fina foton på många fina fartyg. Jag har ännu inte publicerat mitt bidrag, prövar på att få inspiration.

I live right on the Great Sound in Bermuda and I see the cruise ships on a daily basis. Some of them, the most recent ones, are huge now.

You certainly have great views there too. You never get tired of seeing these waterways.

If I lived there I would never leave the veranda.

That is a whole lot prettier than any Veranda we have here. I think I have definitely missed out on Ramsey's best years, the shipbuilding. Always makes me think that when I see beautiful sailing vessels.

Very interesting post, as always. So much water and such a view!
I've been reading Per Petterson's book 'Out Stealing Horses' and have used your photos to help me imagine the beauty of Norway and the fjords in particular.

Wonderful! What a view to have each day. I always love the sailing ships you show, but today my favourite is the second one - the lines ow the wakes and the snowy rocks really appeal to me.

Wow, that first one is a BIG vessel!!

I like the 19th century ketch best. :)

Very Vivid Verbiage! Sorry, couldn't resist an attempt at alliteration.

Beautiful photos as always; this post looks like a travel brochure! I love the 1914 vessel; it makes you think you've been transported to another time.
