Just because it has its head tucked in and is taking a nap doesn't make it necessarily a lazy duck. It might have had a long flight and is finally getting to rest in the warm sun. I have never seen a duck in this position so I find it a wonderful catch!

I wish I could just tuck my beak under my feathers and take a nap. I was up much to late last night. Beautiful photo!

Sometimes I feel the same way. Is he/she also trying to keep warm? Your pictures shows really nice texture of the feathers.

Lacy, looking gooooood :)

The lines of the feathers, the colors of the head, even the details of the grass, all that makes a very great shot!He was maybe lazy but YOU worked well!

I love the natural art we see everyday in wonderful creatures like this. I often find Jo sleeping like this. Thanks for contributing!

Beautiful Mallard(?) If it is a mallard then it must be a drake! Norway was always popular in Europe. We saw the Olympic Winter Games too. Actually we were very interested in the results of the skaters, especially Rintje Ritsma, a Dutch/Frisian skater who won many medals and the Norwegian skaters were then and now very good. I found the openingsceremony very beautiful. Yes those were the days..Next week Maihaugen. And please correct me if I make mistakes.

Magnificent picture! I am always a little annoyed with mallards though since the boys are SO much prettier than the girls : ).

Do you know the expression "lucky duck"? It's someone whose very lucky.

This lazy duck is a lucky lazy duck to have had it's photo taken by you. Nice crisp photo!

Great shot of the mallard...beautiful detail in the feathers...

Nydelig og avslappet denne her da! Flott levert:)

Nobody is as lazy as a male mallard duck. I had to laugh as they float down the pond here like that. You commented on the wood duck I had in my post. I think they are the most beautiful little duck, but they are popular game birds (US) and many are killed. I don't know why as they are tiny and wouldn't be as meaty as a mallard...Michelle

After all these comments, you really don't NEED another one, but I cannot resist. It's a wonderful capture of a beautiful animal. The colours of the feathers can only be achieved through the wonderful world of nature.

A lazy Duck yes, but also magnificent, his feathers are so glossy. Another great photo. Thank you very much for stopping by my blog. Always appreciated.

Oh GORGEOUS capture! I was thinking that lazy would be a good 'L' word, but I never could have come up with such a fabulous photo for it :)

It took me far too long, but I finally bought a grow light for my seedlings. Thanks so much for your advice - I really appreciated it.
