Fotosafari by car (mainly)

GAWO ushered a command earlier this week that everyone should get outside and enjoy the beautiful winter weather, preferably by doing something strenuous. However, I'm prohibited by doctor's orders from doing anything like that, but I did grab my camera-bag, dressed up in the warmest clothes I could find and headed for - my car. This is some of the resulting photos. One might even call it a Fotosafari by car.

All the pictures were taken around a small fjord call Arefjord, not far from where I live. It is one of my favourite hunts for photos. There is always something to be found. Above you can see that the fjord has started to freeze and with the low sun it makes for some interesting effects. Even a transformer station might fit in. Perhaps.

The boathouses and cabins are closed, and boats have been put on dry land.

That is, not all of them.

So if you have a boat that you wish to moor, than here is the place for it.

These are excellent photographs. I am, like you, under doctors orders not to go outside in cold weather and I can't as I am not able to get my breath so I stay in where it is warm and if I have to go like to the doctor my wife warms up the car and takes me and drops me off.

I always take a small point and shoot camera with me in my shirt pocket just in case I see something.

Love the one of the snow covered boat - re our canals - yes there are still some people who use horses to tow canal boats - was watching a film of just such quite recently.

By car or on foot, it matters not because you always come up with such great photos, time and time again. These were all beautiful, for sure, but the one with the snow on the rocks really grabbed my attention.

Fortsatt god helg :) Flotte bilder!

I don't know how you did it but you made a transformer station look interesting.

Here in Florida we don't even weather proof our pools, let alone our boats!

Great photos, even the one with the transformer...it fits perfectly. The photo of the snow covered boat looked 'chilly'.

it was very cold this morning, although we dont have any snow. cold weather isnt unusual in crete at this time of year, and anyway, it's winter.

it was difficult breathing, so i just stayed indoors. the internet, a good dvd, a good book, the television, they all make indoor lifestyles bearable

Those pictures make me dream: I've never seen the sea freezing, and would like so much to see that once in my life! Amazing how the white snow or ice is able to become blue...

Flott serie dette Rune. Her har du fått frem den fine vinterstemningen.
By car er bedre enn ingen safari.
