The Final Bridge

It is now a year since we officially started the "Bridges between" monthly meme. My first post showed a bridge inside Rikshosptitalet University Hospital in Oslo, and it gave a short background for the reason why I spent two months there. In a little while I will go back there for my yearly control. One is always a bit nervous before these occasions - it would be a lie to say otherwise. That is one cause for showing another bridge from Rikshospitalet. This one leads from the Hospital itself to the Hospital Hotel facilities where one stays during the latter part of various treatments, during controls and such things. I have crossed that one many times.

Another reason for showing it is that it winds up this little meme. All good things must come to an en end, and I feel that this meme has done just that. It does not mean that I will stop posting pictures of bridges. That would mean that I would have to stop blogging, and I'm not ready for that just yet :-) .

Let me use the opportunity to thank the participants who have contributed to this series. It has been great fun for me and I hope that it has been that for you too.

PS I will probably not be home when this is posted, but I will try to make my comments ASAP.

Everyone is getting nervous before going to hospital.Think about what you'll do AFTER, see it as a parenthesis which has to be close as soon as possible; It is only a short nightmare, the real life is outside of there, just in front of your camera.
I'll be glad to read you when you'll be back.I send you some sun from south of France with my toughts.

Great photo as always and as a matter of fact, I think I know that bridge. You see I do understand you was a bit nervous as I am going to a gastroscopy test there next week. So keep your fingers crossed for me.

Btw: I hope you've noticed I've tagged you in my last post :-)

and there I've been working out next month's bridge post - no worries about the meme thing - some of these things get a bit out of hand and start to act like a pressured commitment rather than a nice prompt so I'll still be doing bridges but not at set times maybe.

Thank you for hosting this meme, Rune. It has been fun. ;-)

And best of luck when you return to your original bridge.

I'll be back to check your blog as I enjoy your look on the world.

A great capture. And I'm glad we'll still see bridges from you.

Oj...

Hei Rune. Det meste er sagt i kommentaren over her.

Thanks for starting and hosting Bridges Between. I have thoroughly enjoyed participating and seeing the bridges from around the world. You, Arne, John, Lene, Ivar and others have shown us the beauty of Norway and some of yourlife there. Good luck on your visit and traveling that familiar bridge again!

I participated each month until today. There must have been some problem with blogger. I had a white page and no posts so I just gave up and figured I could use my post next month. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted and I finally was going to show a real river bridge again but alas, it was not to be.

Thanks for starting this meme. You know how much I liked it as I gave you a personal award for it. I am glad I could experience it 6 months from my other blog and almost another 6 here. Thank you!

You are in my thoughts and prayers and hoping to hear good news that you are "home" from you before long.

I feel the same way about hospitals, but you'll be fine. And I'll be here waiting to see more of your wonderful photos.

I have seen most of your bridge posts and those I enjoyed. My favorite are covered bridges of the past.

I realize I did not come back and comment after first seeing your final "bridge between". I wanted to first get my bridge up and running--and it has been for almost three days now.

Thank you for a fine run of the meme. I find that photo memes open our eyes to make us more observant of the things around us. Writing memes make us think more deeply or more creatively. Memes are more useful than you might think.

They also can become a little tedious to manage. If I am host I MUST post. Does Mr. Linky work this week? Are there spammers out there linking to the meme without an appropriate post--trying to sell something through my meme--or posting something crude or otherwise inappropriate? When will I have a chance to visit the participants and update the blogroll?

I will look forward to more bridges, more skies, and continuing tours of Norway. The best of results from your hospital visit.

I would like to echo all the other comments wishing you well and a speedy exam with a quick release to enjoy life. Your photo today reminds me of the many links between buildings in St. Paul, Mn that protect pedestrians from the winds of winter. Better to live or visit the sunny parts of the world as I'm doing now in Mexico!!

I can't believe I managed to get the date wrong for this, and I've missed the last in the series! Would you believe, I even have the pictures ready. I wish you all the very best, and thank you for hosting such a great meme.

TAKK igjen!
