Sky Watch over the hills

No snow to watch on January 7 - just a lot of dust illuminated by the low sun. And an ever-smoking stack...

Stunning view as always! We have had a thin layer of snow and ice everywhere for the first time in 10 years. Tomorrow a new sunrise and a new slate to write on! Right you are! Happy SWF!

Love all the "mini pictures" within the larger landscape! Even that smoking stack creates interest! Lovely!

I think we've got your snow by mistake..I like the colours in this view though

My eye was drawn to the smoking stack. Probably because I see so many here.
However, even with it your photo is filled with things to draw the eye. I almost missed the top of the bridge because my eye was drawn into the image. As Michelle said - there are layers and layers - of goodness!

Meget flott bilde Rune. Fine linjer i lanskapet du har klart å få frem her.

One person's smog is another's enchanting misty vista like this.

(I shoot in Raw(5MB), convert to jpeg and resize a small image for the blog. I convert to TIF for professional work like magazines. )

A wonderful skywatch shot. Beautiful lighting of the haze.

PERBS said...

I counted at least 8 layers of landscape, including the bridge as one. How neat is that?

Smog ..cough cough..love the mountain view! Hard to believe no snow where you are!

The haze really accentuates the distance between the mountains and the valleys. Beautiful sky watch!

Very beautiful shot, love the hazy misty, cold feel to it. Excellent!
Happy New Year from me

GAWO said...

Absolutely stunning! Love it and whish we had such grand landscapes over here. You are lucky to live in such an environment.

AVCr8teur said...

Nice view whether or not there are smokestacks in the background. Is it unusual not to have snow?

richies said...

The layers visible in the photo remind me a bit of the hills here in Arkansas. We have so much humidity that there is usually haze visible between the layers of hills

The photo of the valley and the haze clinging to the ground has a nice etheral quality.
