Sky Watch along the coast

We live near the North Sea. The islands on the picture were all that were between me and the Atlantic Ocean at that moment. The clouds above, lighted by the sun just to the left, are typical of a fine day in winter.

PS Please visit Sky Watch Friday's own site for more.

For a moment I thought that was fog not sea and the islands were peaks (like Tom's pics I posted the pther day)

It looks so calm but then we all know what calm preceeds.

Are you a pilot? How lovely to see the North Sea from high up!

Beautiful !

thanks for sharing this great photo. As my friends would say, "It needs to be in a calendar or on a book cover"

PS: In answer to your question, "only a very slight adjustment in levels in Photoshop"

Is there ice around the islands? They seem to be floating on clouds. Wonderful photo.

Great photo, RuneE! When I saw the islands in the water, the first thing that came to mind was "oh, gosh, a photo of a sea monster". The coastline is gorgeous though, and I admit I have an overactive imagination.

The calm sea looks so peaceful, but I know storms can gather up in the twinkling of an eye.

i was going to ask you if the islands are inhabited, but i suppose they could be washed over in a storm...

I do think your sea photos are just mesmerizing.

I am not able to visit sites like I did before the hospital but try to get onto one or two.

Hello Rune,

To answer your question about transplants...

I don't know if it is an option or not. The thoracic surgeon said he didn't know what he would do if this TALC procedure doesn't work and keep the lung from collapsing. I do know they can take the lung out but the other one isn't is great shape either.

Thanks for the comment on my blog.

I'm glad there is a glimpse of sun somewhere over the northern hemosphiere and also that you shared it with us. It is such a majestic photo of a beautiful sunset. I cannot get enough of your photos.

It all looks so mysterious and inspiring! This is also old even older than the pyramids. There's always a mixture of old and new, but whatever the time, the past is important for the present and the future.
