The snow has come

Yesterday night was marked by gale-force wind (20 m/sec +) and snow. We expected to wake in a snowdrift, but luckily it was only 5 cm. The clouds started to lift and we could see snowcapped mountains and a winter's neighbourhood. It is rumoured to last for at least four days more...

Aha I'm the first on the comments list today....hahaha, I am just uploading my shot for today, What spectacular scenery love shot number 1, love the clouds wrapped around the mountains. We too are anticipating snow, here in the east of England which is quite unusual so early in the season....Brrrr!

wow, that feels cold
on the contrary we have had amazing weather all day today, all the four seasons at once. first we had gale force winds, coupled with heavy rain, then it became very sunny, but the wind didnt stop, and the rain was on-off for most of the day. the temperature is now 19 degrees celsius - really weird weather!

Og her er de! Toppers.

God helg :)

Meget flotte bilder Rune.

The mountains are so pretty with a little snow on them. I can't believe we have so much more snow than you have, though!

Å er det ikke deilig med snø? Man må no i alle fall like bildene dine.

Yay.... winter has finally arrived. I'm glad you are happy. It's beautiful for you there.
It's amazing how excited everyone is about it.
I, for one, am not as pleased about it. It is such a long long cold season here in the mountains. I love the warmer season of walking trails, and colors of nature.
I look forward to your posts of the winter season!

Hi, havnt been around for a while, sorry about that.
So you had snow, so did Denise Nesbitt over the North Sea from you in Yorkshire. But we seem to be having mild weather for the time of year, frost in the morning but nice days.

I guess when you live near the mountains, it can give you some great snow photos. Mt. Hood in Oregon has had snow for several weeks now. I also heard that our other mountain ranges got some snow but none for us as we are so close to sea level. It has to be down to 500 ft. to get some here. I can hardly wait! Lucky you.
