Maintenance

We are in the lucky position to have a small cottage about an hour's drive from home. This is our little paradise and we try to spend as many of the week-ends as we possibly can there between March and October.

However, there is always "a fly in the ointment". In this case it is called Maintenance. Some like it and some may prefer to do other things. I must admit that I belong to the last category. That leads to the start of many projects with subsequent postponing. In this case ( an old iron gate) I managed finally to get rid of the rust, treat it with appropriate chemicals and give it a couple of coats with paint.

I even managed to take some pictures in-between the different processes.

Man må jo holde ting ved like.

I have wrought iron gates and railings which MUST be painted this year - such an awful job when the sun is shining, so I wait until it looks like rain and then put it off as it's no good painting when there's a chance it might rain, is there?!!

Good work!

Indeed. Getting the rust off is the challenge. I have seen chemicals to do that but it never works for me. I end up trying to get as much off as I can and then paint it.

You seemed to have done better than that.

Maintenance is a part of life. Even we humans require maintenance.
We plan to build a little cabin and a pond on the back side of our land one of these days. Just for a place to get away into the woods but not be too far from home.

There is a saying here about "watching paint dry" - this is a first "photographing drying paint" - come see me Wednesday I've a treat for you especially.
