Sky Watch Friday among the clouds

I sometimes have to visit Oslo, the capital of Norway. The distance between the cities is about 500 km if you drive yourself or take the train. That translates into most of the day; the nature of Norway being what it is. That of course leads to more use of air planes than might be quite healthy for the planet - on the other hand it gives one an opportunity for taking pictures from angles that are not quite common.

This was snapped about 6000 m above Hardangervidda, a mountain plateau filling a large part of Southern Norway. I also enjoyed seeing the clouds we usually see from below in Sky Watch Friday - from above. And even a bit of the sky.

More pictures from between the clouds in my Norwegian Blog.

What a view! I've never been in a plane and hope I never have to but I can still enjoy the view.

I love this, clouds from above! About your question, I live in a small town, no airport at all, except the one for privately owned planes way out in the country. That is one reason that scene struck me so.

Riding the clouds! Looks like fun!

Hi RuneE,

Thanks for your comment on my blog, that has prompted me to explain since it's not traditional photography. If you take another look, there will be an explanation there.

I will look in on the blogs that you mention in your previous post.

Best regards,

THis is why I always get a window seat on the plane.

I know about distance, For me to drive to Vancouver, it is over 400Km and Rocky Mtn Girl is a similar distance the other direction. Yes, BC is a big place with winding roads following valleys between mountain ranges, so flying can make a shorter trip here.

Last summer we were in Norway and it takes a long time by car to go somewhere. I took some nice air-photos too during our trip. Beautiful country.
