Just snooping around

Not all ships are full-size. Some are models, like this one. I found it in a newly restored harbour shack which is now a restaurant, "Nøsteboden". It lies close by the quay where "M/S Prinsesse Ragnhild" docks (in fact, you can see a tiny glimpse of the ship to the right of the building). It was not officially open for business, although we thought so and went in. The owner welcomed us anyhow and showed us around. He has done a magnificent job in restoring the old, solid, wooden shack. In addition to models like this, there is also a permanent exihibition of modern art and they are to open a wholly new resturant serving only German food, with menus in German and only German waiters (his wife is from Germany). Even though we were "trespassing", he gave us a nice cup of tea on the house. We will surely be back for "the full treatment". And soon.

Recommended.
