M/F "Bergensfjord"

We are about to get a new kind of ferry in Norway - a ferry were the fuel for engines is based on gas. Five new ones are on the way, and this is the first: M/F "Bergensfjord". It is 129 meter long and 19 meter broad. The carrying capacity is 212 cars and 587 passengers. It is owned by a company called Fjord1. The ferry shall go between Halhjem outside Bergen and Sandvikvåg on the island of Stord. It will reduce the time taken from 55 to 40 minutes.

By the way - the name "Bergensfjord" was initially carried by an America liner owned by NAL - quite a different kind of ship...
